7-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Colombo

After landing at the Bandaranaike International Airport, head towards the capital of Sri Lanka, Colombo. Colombo is one of the oldest places, so you might find many buildings from the colonial period, which will definitely attract you. You will also find the floating market at Pettah. The one thing that you cannot miss is the Sri Lankan dinner, which is rice and curry. So you can spend your first day in this place.

Day 2: Colombo to Kandy

If you are interested in culture and art, then you are definitely going to like this place a lot. This place is the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, Kandy. On your way from Colombo to Kandy, you can also stop by the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. Once you enter Kandy, the first place you must visit is the most famous temple, which is the Temple of the Tooth Relic. It is one of the sacred temples of Kandy. You can also roam around the Kandy Lake. If you are interested in traditional and folk dance, then you can experience the Kandyan dance performance.

Day 3: The Cultural Triangle Adventure

After roaming around the cultural capital of Lanka come to Sigiriya. It is one of main parts of the Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka. There are many places that you can explore here, like the Dambulla Cave Temple. So you can explore the different temples and different cultural sites over here. And after exploring all the places if time permits, then you can visit the Polommaruwa, an UNESCO World Heritage city. ,

Day 4: Scenic Train to Ella

The next day, wake up early in the morning and come to Nuwara Eliya. You are going to experience the most iconic train journey in your life. Board the Colombo to Ella train from here. You will be mesmerized by the beauty outside. You will get to see the famous tea plantations, waterfalls. These views will get your eyes stuck to them, and you will definitely forget about the other things and other problems in your life. After coming from this journey, come back to Ella by evening.

Day 5: Explore Ella

After 4 days of hectic travelling, take a rest and relax in the afternoon at a local tea garden and learn how the world-famous Ceylon tea is made. And for dinner, try some local restaurants that offer you Sri Lankan rice and curry.

Day 6: Yala Safari Adventure

It is one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Sri Lanka. It showcases the wildlife safari of Lanka with elephants, crocodiles, peacocks, and many others. You can stay overnight in a safari lodge if you want.

Day 7: Unwind at Mirissa Beach

If you are a beach person, then this is the best place for you. It is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka, Mirissa. You can spend the day relaxing on the beach, watching the whales, and enjoying the beachside massage. You can finish your trip with the delicious seafood.

Attraction Of Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is full of attractions. You can go anywhere and say it’s a destination. There is no such place that you can not call attractive.

  • Sigiriya

The best thing about this place is the natural rock, which was transformed into a beautiful fortress, whose remains can still be found in that place. This rock was designated by UNESCO in 1982.

  • Kandy

It is a pilgrimage destination and is represented as a sacred city because of its importance and spiritual significance.

  • Ella

This place is mostly visited because of the views that can be found in that place. It is worth visiting that place. It is a dream place for all the trekkers.

  • Galle Fort

It is a historical, archaeological, and architectural heritage monument, which, even after more than 437 years, maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by the Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.
